Jehova is god's name. Doon't have to be a JW to know that [This message was edited Wed Mar 17 13:04:34 2004 by klaatu] "Goodness will guide us when love is inside of us... The Force will be with you, always"

Just because I felt good about believing something didn't mean that I felt it was right trying to push it on others. If they were interested, they'd search it out themselves, like I had. And that was one of the major reasons why I left The Movement, because I didn't wanna go recruit.
And it's the same thing with my sexuality. I was involved with the Danish Gay & Lesbian organization for many years. But just because I love other people and would love for them to see the truth like I have - that being gay is the most wonderful thing you can be - I reason that people who are interested will find out the truth on their own. And, by golly, they continously do. There really is no need to go recruiting or to push my truth on other people. Love always wins in the end. Why do Jehovas go recruiting? I think it is partly because they like it when they are rejected - it confirms to them that they are among the chosen few who'll be saved on the Apocalypse. But I also think that it is because that if they didn't go recruiting, there probably wouldn't be any. Prince didn't seek out JW. The JW came to him. And Larry took advantage of Prince being vulnerable following the death of his baby to the point where he actually moved into the house next to Prince so's he could keep working on that weak mind. At least, that's how I see it. im shocked to see such comments coming from someone i considered cool... if your really interesting in learning about why people do the things they do..just ask..theres plenty of friendly and wonderful jw's who will answer your questions here at the org... Because they follow the counsel at Matthew 24:14 to go making disciples of people of all the nations. When Jesus sent out his early disciples, he instructed them to go to people's homes (Matthew 10:11-13). Also, see Acts 20:20,21 and Acts 5:42. This work is motivated by love - for God, and for our neighbor. The message is not forced on others. This is ridiculous. People's circumstances changes, and people themselves change. One day a person may be too busy to listen; another day they'll gladly take out the time. A person could have serious problems that may stimulate an awareness of spiritual need (like the death of Prince's child). What was Larry taking advantage of?? All Larry did was give Prince one of our publications and Prince loved the book so much he wanted to learn more. Prince showed interest, so Larry studied the bible with him. Ya know who shared that little tidbit with me?? My dear spiritual brother George Benson. The idea of brainwashing is ludicrous.

No one knows for sure how the Hebrew word YVH was pronounced, but most likely it was Yaweh (there is no "J" sound in Hebrew or Aramaic). "Jehovah" is kind of an English mis-pronunciation of Yaweh. Personally, I don't think it really matters. God knows who you're talking to. Do not hurry yourself in your spirit to become offended, for the taking of offense is what rests in the bosom of the stupid ones. (Ecclesiastes 7:9)

Plus, according to the Star Tribune article, Mr. Benson was the first person to introduce P to the JWs. After the death of his child, he ASKED Larry to give him some more info, so its fairly obvious that Prince was interested even before Larry came into the picture. I wonder if that's why George is thanked in the liner notes of Emancipation... Or it could be that GB is just plain cool. Maybe a little of both. I think that, at the time of Emancipation (even before the death of his child) he was getting deeper into spirituality. GB had introduced him to the JW faith, and P was getting interested (he was also studying a whole lot of other paths at the time). By the time Larry rolled around, P was ready to get into it even more. Ultimately, no one got him into the JW studies but himself. George didn't force him to join, Brownmark didn't force him to join, and Larry didn't force him to join.
