Believe it or not, "For You" is the only Prince album I don't have in my CD collection. Oh, I have it on vinyl, but it's mildewing away at my mom's house. It's never been my favorite album, and I figured, eh, one day I'll find it used for cheep and I'll get it then.


It's been over a decade. You just can't find this thing cheap or used on CD.


Batman? 2.99 used. Chaos and Disorder? Hey, you can find it for free under the couch. Even The Gold Experience can be found for seven bucks or so at most used wrecka stows. Purple Rain? Yup, all over the place, cheep as can be.

For You? Nope.

Who knew?

I have the same experience with that disc. What gives?

It's quite easy to find here in Barcelona. 6€, 9€ maximum. What I just cant find is "The Gold Experience" nor cheap nor expensive.

Owning all of the Prince albums should be a minimal prerequiste to moderating a Prince fan site. I purchased a gross of the japanesse pressing of the CD so I have several unopened copies for those that need help

i have a copy on cd that i bought when i had started gettin his back catalogue. i had to order it through the store (i got it through musicland or disc jockey) because they didn't have it in the store. now, it's pretty much collectin dust in my cd rack cuz i found a copy on vinyl about a year ago.

It's like if they didn't sell originally, "You damn consumers'll pay for it NOW!",

as opposed to trying to get rid of all the copies of "For You" @ a budget-price.
( Incidently, years ago I finally had it SPECIAL ORDER "For You", and ever since, that store stocks it regularly) So: order it I guess.

WOW that's pretty steep for a standard release...over 16 dollars! No not a lot of money but for an old album that didn't sell that well. Glad I have Come and Lovesexy already...tho LS is getting kinda scratchy

I got Emancipation for I think 6.99. There were a bunch of 'em. Probably in 10 years they'll be worth more as not that many were pressed in compared to the others. Hits/Bsides STILL goes for 30 -40 bucks.

I just saw a couple copies of it on CD at Best Buy. Can't remember exactly how much it was going for. It was somewhere between $9 and $13.00/US.

When I did "secret santa", my orger to give was The humanbody and that's what he wanted. I managed to find it really easy here.....cost me $20Aus.

It took me about a year and a half, but I found it in a used CD store for about 8 dollars Canadian.
