prince says hes pretty much an open book, if you know his music, you know him ----- that being true, what are some of the things you have learned about him over the years by listening to his music ?

To be fair, there's not a whole lot of self-criticism in popular music. I agree a lot of Prince songs are like that, but that's kind of the nature of pop to present people in their best light or at least something very charitable. Prince had Lovesexy, which was an acknowledgement of some mistakes. There are aslo a couple of songs where he does blame himself, but these are hardly out of the "I'm sorry -- take me back" mold, so you are right with a big qualifier.

Who else has been going out of their way to take the blame? No country singers allowed!
