Except for a ceremonial glass of red wine or champagne, does Prince drink ?
I remember reading a book called “Rock and Roll revealed” by ‘Maryanne Melloan’ in which the author in a chapter on drugs had written something to this effect :- “ it is refreshing to know that some of the top stars manage to remain high without intoxicants, Prince, Tina Turner and Bruce Springsteen to name a few”.
I think the video of Holy River also has an anti-drinking message in a subtle form.
I had also come across a celebrity list of non-smokers in a magazine which included the names of Prince, MJ, Bruce Springsteen, and Bryan Adams besides others.
What do you think ?

drinking 'port' is the same as drinking 'red wine' I suppose, isn't port wine a form of red wine ? please someone enlighten .

Port can be red or white. It is first made like other wine by fermenting grapes in metal vats, then the young wine is mixed with cognac (brandy made by distilling wine), and the mixture is further aged in oak barrels.

Hasn't that always seemed like the lamest drink to mention in a song as a "cure" for a broken heart? I always wanted him to say kentucky bourbon or something a little "stronger".

As far as i am aware he has had a few drinks (two) to be sociable but no-more.Being a dedicated Jehovahs witness i think he has remained sober 100% of the time.I have never read anything in the last 20 years about him being drunk.even before his new religion came to town and changed his life.

there was an article in a new york news paper sometime last year, the article stated how prince was with some bandmembers and friends at a club and had a load of champaigne returned that the club owner had sent to him on the house, it said that water was brought back instead, i believe the title of the article was "prince runs dry" or something, i have the small clip around hear somewhere, i believe it was from the post's page 6 section

According to Dez Dickerson in his book "my time with Prince" Prince does not drink, because he gets violently ill after just a few drinks. It's not that he doesn't like it, his body just doesn't tolerate alcohol.
