No. When I see a good movie, I recommend it. When I read a decent book, I tell people about it. I have always made mix compilations for friends and put Prince songs on there that I thought they'd like. I've converted some, lost others. Just today, I had two friends email me asking me for a list of my top 5 Prince albums because they wanted to go buy them. Maybe once the P TV appearances settle down so will their enthusiams, but I for one am happy for all the well deserved attention this man and his music are receiving. Well, it was fun while it lasted, but the days of having Prince all to ourselves is over. He's reaching out to the mainstream again. That means bigger crowds, more competition for tickets, no soundchecks, no celebrations.
I'm glad that I was able to attend at least one of the celebrations. I doubt if he'll have any more any time soon. By reducing the club price to just $25 for a "lifetime," there's probably going to be thousands of new members. It just wouldn't be feasible to choose a few hundred to attend the celebration from thousands who would want to go. So just look back on the last few years as a special time in Prince fandom. | |

TheOrgerFormerlyKnownAs said: Naw, I don't think it sucks. I dig the fact that it's a reminder to those of us who never went anywhere in the first place that Prince is an incredible artist. I may be a cynic and a critic but the moment a tour was announced, I turned into a giddy little bitch.
Yer my FAVORITE giddy little bitch, you giddy little bitch. No confusion, no tears. No enemies, no fear. No sorrow, no pain. No ball, no chain.
