I don't know if it's been mentioned yet but I read in a link below that according to Warner Bros., in a conference last March 8, they'll be releasing Under the Cherry Moon and Graffiti Bridge on DVD at the same time as the Purple Rain 2-disc special edition DVD!! How exciting is that!!

Has an "official" release date been set yet? I've been looking at all the upcoming releases as far forward as June and I've not seen anything Purple yet.

YES!!! SO *UTCM* WILL BE RELEASED!!! TGs!!! I'ma defintely get it & just probably get it on VHS some how. I'm glad,I hope it's in the USA. I needa know the date,let us know if ya find out the exact date. That's so koo right there. I'm already gettin' 'PR' I gotta thinka 'bout 'GB'. Ah hell! who I'm kiddin'?! I already have UTCM & GB on VCD i don't think they are worth getting on DVD, but I will definitly get PR SE 2 disc set.

Considering your version of UCM & GB is a boot I would say get the real deal Also I would definatly pick up UCM if you had the option to watch it in color as well as B&W and maybe the original ending in the bonus features or sumtin.

Although - with PR i don't care so much for the DVD special edition... what I want is PR on CD remastered, with the full versions of Let's Go Crazy, Computer Blue and the Beautiful Ones. And bonus tracks of course. A 2 disc set would be very nice, thank u very much.


ah.... if only I could snap my fingers and make it happen.

I just hope they give them the proper treatment of putting them ALL in widescreen format.

UTCM was a pretty bad/sappy movie, but the cinematography (sp? webmaster: can we get a spell-check? one that will even recognize prince-bonics? that would be tight) was phenomenal. When I got to college and found out there was an exchange program with Nice, I was all over it (alas, couldn't go).

And them fangah waves! And Do U Lie...and all them songs...and going to the theater on opening night in Westwood with all my bros and sistas and when AnotherLoverHoleinYoHead came on, my peeps jumped up and started dancing. And when they found out it was the abridged version and they was MAAD.

Always had a problem with Sometimes It Snows cuz he says my name followed by the word died...twice! In my teens I was so hurt that this was the only time Prince says my name (spelled wrong even) and it it's followed by "died" or preceded by "I used to cry for". Silly? Yes, but as a total teenybopper Prince freak (OK, nearly 20 yrs later I still am)

I'm excited for UTCM...but GB? The CD is the bomb and the movie detracts majorly. Last weekend I saw the video for New Power Generation, which has generous clips of GB. Nope, can't do it. I rock that CD to this very day, but no, can't do the movie. Even with the Bambi hair...no.

Not a diss to Prince...I luv the fact that everything he does I either love or hate. He still moves me. And when u can cause emotion, that's powerful.

Yum, I'll get to watch Prince do Girls & Boys...swearing that he's in one of those old 40s movies w/his conk on his head.
