When I first bought the Mountains 12", I figured that Alexa De Paris would be the second piano instrumental (not Venus De Milo) featured in UTCM and on the Playboy bootleg tape of Parade... but put down the needle and heard a dull, muzak wallpaper instrumental with absolutely nothing memorable about it. I think this is Prince's worst b-side ever, maybe even worst SONG, full stop. Any other candidates?

YOU MUST B KIDDING!!! It is definitely one of my favorites. MY favorite b-side is the instrumental verson of GOD. YA know it is the music in the background of the makeout scene with applonia.

Maybe you don't like because, as you have said, you were expecting another kind of song, but forget that and give it a chance! it's worthy! I only have the extended version which was included on the letitgo single, never heard the shorter version, but I love this one in his entirity, I just wish his instrumental albums have more pieces like this.

The first time I heard the guitar in that song I used to do the old " air playing" bit lol.
It's one of his finest imo.
The only grip is the quality and how tinny it always sounded until I beefed it up using some "special" software
Now it booms out like a badass.
