Give it up for the ORG! I would just like to give out a little "Hell Ya" for Ben and all the keepers of the ORG. It was lonely growing up in VT. as a Prince fan in the 80's without a web site such as this. I was on my own as a Prince fan until the next concert when I could join my fellow Prince fanatics.
This site is great for keeping the fans together and letting them say what they really want to say, good and bad. Once in awhile Princemania resurges, like this month, and the world gets in on our cool underground world. But when all the fairweather fans leave in a few months and forget about Prince again... we'll all still be here typin' away! OHHWA!! ______________________________________________

WHOOP WHOOP WHOOP!!!!
The Org has literally changed my life, as overly dramatic as that sounds, it's the fucking truth. 10 years ago I felt like the only Prince fan in the entire world, and now I know I'm part of an elite group that spans the globe. It ain't easy maintaining and moderating a website...and y'all have done a BANG-UP MOTHERFUCKING JOB, yo. No confusion, no tears. No enemies, no fear. No sorrow, no pain. No ball, no chain.

The Org is funkay. The world is a comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel.

It's a fun damn time to be a Prince geek, and it's an honor to be part of this site, especially right now. I wish I could go back in time to 1984, kidnap my Purple Rain-obsessed 13-year-old self, and bring him/me to this year to see the HOF induction, the Musicology tour, and all the goodies we're getting right now. Of course, I probably wouldn't be alive to type this right now, because I probably would have given my time-displaced younger self a damn heart attack.

Let's just say that in 1983 my bedroom was a museum of Boy George, Annie Lennox and MJ posters and paraphernalia...and in the spring of 1984, my room took a drastic turn for the purple and it never quite recovered...though DAMN, I wish I could find them Annie Lennox posters.

although i was only 3 at this time in '84, i think i'm startin to get a sense of how stuff must've been...sorta. I was down with Prince when I heard Soft and Wet. Let me tell you, It was cool hanging out at the General admission shows, when you just had maybe 3,000 to 5,000 people. What I noticed then was that Prince fans tend to be very creative people. When Purple Rain dropped in the movie theaters, it was CHAOS. You had to camp out for tickets to the PR tour. Girls were screaming, people pushing. Sometimes, I like it better when the Fan Community was a small number. The road you choose to walk in this life, is a road that leads to the next.....

The museum...I also had lots of Duran Duran. But this is a wonderful thread, cuz I sure wish I could bring my 15-16 year old self (what with my "writing" like Prince, thinking like Prince...puhleeze) here now. I would be a bawling mess. Too fun. It's nice to have a hero who may be the sanest quack of 'em all! LUV IT
