Vault Material will never be released

Vault material that we all know and love, and then some, will NEVER be released. Ever. It just wont happen. Prince will not release it to the public. It is something that will always be dangled in front of ....

We should know this by now.
Oh my, oh my.

We'll have 2 wait 'til he's dead!

Then Warners Bros. will gain rights to the vault by some unforeseen contractual stipulation and they will release 10 volumes of 4cd sets of vault material - called 'Purple Music - The Legacy'.

OK?

Nonsense. He has already released some of it on The Vault and Crystal Ball, and certain songs gained release from there over the years. Remember that "Feel U Up" sat in the vault for about three years before it was released, and "I Could Never Take The Place Of Your Man" was a Dirty Mind era track that he re-recorded the vocals on for SOTT. Likewise, the title track to "Rave Un2 The Joy Fantastic" was an outtake from 1988. He dips into it every now and then. There probably won't ever be a full on release of everything, since that is logistically impossible, but to say we won't ever see any of it released is just absurd, since we already have.

I think we will get a lot of vault material if/when Prince's WB albums get remastered. I think most of them will be reissued as 2 CD sets with extended B-sides and outtakes as a bonus. Now if only Prince and WB could get together and agree to release this stuff we would be in heaven.

The songs you just mentioned are not the vault material we all know and love, as I did.
