prince is blk, but blacks are of mixed heritage...which means his complexion could be pale to dark...he doesn't have to have surgery or some skin lightening products...prince is light skin anyways...so it could be the lighting from his interviews and or videos...that could very well be the reason he looks darker sometimes and he looks lighter...the effects of tv and lighting can cause a big difference.

Well I am very light skinned and let me tell you my skin color fluctuates from time to time. No I don't have vitalygo (did I spell that right?) Sometimes it is lack of sun and sometimes my color just changes. If you looked at photo's of me as a kid you can see the eb and flow of my pigmetation. Plus Prince is very light as a matter of fact we are the same complextion and it seems to me his skin does the same thing. Also and someone else said this the lighting has a lot to do with it. If you notice when he is around white folk he is a little brighter than when he is around a lot of black. It is not very overt but you can catch it if you pay attention. The reason for that is because you use different lighting technique's for different skin colors. I do video production for me and my band and friends of mine. Depending on my surroundings I look even lighter or darker. I know it may sound crazy but it is the Gospel truth. Also I don't do polaroids any more. I loose all my color with that flash or something. Sometimes flash photography can just wash you out. Anyway hope I was able to shed some light on this subject.

Okay folks, its real simple. Yes, he was darker when he was younger, but not drastically so. Two factors can contribute to this: 1) lack of sun. Regardless of your race, if you spend less time in the sun your skin will get lighter. 2) a vegetarian diet can actually contribute to lighter skin. Madonna made note in a 1989 interview that her skin had gotten lighter in the years since she had gone vegan. Its not an uncommon occurrence.

There is a world of difference in Prince getting a shade or two lighter, and MJ becoming bleach white. Michael claims to have Vitilligo (a claim that is dubious, at best), a disease that causes splotches to appear on the skin where the pigment is destroyed. Jacko claims that he wears makeup to even out the splotches (even though he could wear darker makeup). Michael has become completely albino white in the years since "Thriller" was released. Prince, on the other hand, has become a shade or two lighter. It is hardly the same thing.

The one thing I looooove about the Org, is that it takes NOTHING to get you people rilled up! Man I love this place.
