was making rock oriented music.
but somewhere in the process of getting ready to make new music,
after sig o the times album,
he was acussed of not beign black enough,of betraying his roots.
since than he was constantly trying to prove ,
that he is still black still funky.
do you think that thing affected his music.
i think that prince is holding back with his guitar playing,because if he let it loose he will be acused by his black community.
jimi hendrix was black guitar player,but black peole didn't like his music,they preffaired motown sound.
most of jimi's audiance at his shows were white people.

His skin colour can't directly influence his music, but his opinion of it - that would be a better way of putting it across.

I think it's a valid question, but then like I said, what does it matter?

I think it has.People treat people of other races or skin tones differently.It is unfortunate,but so.So,the mindset of the person is affected,be it for the good or the bad.There's not a definitive way to answer this nor a simple way to explain,but it is so.I also think that Prince's looks had a lot to do with the boldness and brashness of his tunes.Prince's looks wereappealing to a l;arge group of people and I think that can affect a person and how they go about doing what they do.If you are attractive then I think that is one less thing that you have to be concerned with.So,you can be cocksure and careless.

But as far a Prince being loved by black folks you would be foolish to assume that at anytime in his career that he hasn't been loved by black folk. He is Prince not TTD and or Lenny Kravitz. Not saying they don't have a black fan base but honestly the white fan base is the biggest for them. You will see this in a much bigger way when you see all the props he gets at the NAACP awards even though he is not up for an award. Black people always have and always will love him.
