skywalker said: HELLO!!!??? MPLS doesn't not hate PRince. Minnesotan's are just pretty quiet about him. He can drive around this town without getting mobbed. People stare at him when he comes through the airport but no one hunts him down. If you don't believe that his hometwon doesn't love him just check out his attendance numbers anytime he brings a tour to town. White bread MN doesn't hate Prince they just don't shower him with adoration. Downtown and Uptown MPLS, though, he is a God-especially to the local music scene.
ahh, correction. The last two times Prince was HERE in MPLS he only SOLD OUT the first day of each tour. Lovesexy and Rainbow Children. He only sold out the first day of BOTH two day shows. fact. MPLS no longer cares about Prince. You know how many people in this town (5 minutes from Paisley) ask if he's still around? Everyone who finds out I'm a big Prince fan asks me this. And this is in Chanhassen and Chaska! "Is Prince still in town?" - "Is anyone in Pailsey Park anymore?" Man, Prince is invisible in this town alright....like a ghost. "So strange that no one stayed at the end of the Parade..." - Wendy & Lisa's "Song About" on their 1987 self-titled album.

It's not like anyone is asking you to burn them a CD or record a show....All you'd have to do is go to store in your area, buy 10 newspapers, then tell orgers to send you $5 and you'll mail them the Prince insert. What's so hard about that? | |
