Us Prince fans are VERY fortunate. Unlike many, many artists that try to go on tours after releasing only ONE, two albums tops (who wants to hear the same 6-8 songs at every stop???, LOL), Prince has argubly the most musical material of any musical artist to retrieve for his concerts.

My question is, if YOU were going to a concert of his, and YOU were the musical selector for him had to choose ONLY twelve (12) songs for Prince to sing for that night, which ones would they be? Remember, not only are you choosing your favorite Prince tunes, but you may have to think about others who maybe not as huge Prince fans, new fans, die-hard old school fans....the like. Choose an opening song, the middle ten (not neccesarily all of YOUR favorites only...remember, you're choosing for 12,000+ arena fans too), and a closing song.

If I was in charge of music for the night I was supposed to attend a concert of his, this would be my playlist (I would've said choose 20-25 songs, but that would be too long a list...heck, knowing me, I would want him to sing 50 of his hits, lol) But we have to be realistic. Thus, my list for the evening:

indeed an excellent choice Powerfantastic has written down! Personally i'd love to hear Let's Pretend We're Married live once. Never heard him play that fabulous song. I certainly do not want to play him Purple Rain, i think it would be a real waist of time...even for 'new' fams to get drawn to his music. Just don't fit no more.

All I've gotta say is WOW, you all know your P's and Q's. I think Prince himself would approve orf our lists. It's going to be interesting to what songs he will play in the opening concert in L.A., as well as all the other venues. If anyone goes to the concert (besides me) or anyone watches the concert on any of the theaters via closed circuit video, we will post it here.

Question, on the "Computer Blue" guitar solo that was mentioned, is that available on a 12" single? I don't think I've ever heard that.

On "The Beautiful Ones", anyone ever hear the extended version? It's just a small part near the end, but that one little part that Prince omitted on the Purple Rain album version sounds much more soulful and meaningful.
