Parade: what do you think of it? I notice that some people in here really don't like Parade. Whick is fine, we are all welcome to our own opinions. But for those of you who don't like Parade, what exactly don't you like about it? Personally, it took me a while to get into it but I think it's great. Definitely a good variety of stules on it!

The album that showcases how big of an impact Sly Stone has on ol' boy! With the exception of "Kiss" every song on here sounds like it could've been written by Sly Stone (despite what all the Lisa and Wendy heads say ) This album is number 3 on my Prince list! I'm sick and tired of the Prince fans being sick and tired of the Prince fans that are sick and tired!

This album is definately one of his best:
Under the Cherry moon Kiss Sometimes it snows in April Girls and Boys All four are true Prince classics....and the rest are seriousely good tunes. My least favourite is Mountains which is still pretty sweet.

Your least favorite is Mountains Parade has just over taken SOTT as my favorite Prince album (although that could change) Parade grammar edit [This message was edited Thu Mar 4 7:47:19 2004 by Jamademus]

It's not quite one of his best like 1999 or SOTT, but it's damn good. I can listen to it any time. The world is a comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel.

Oh No. Parade was the bomb
Kiss 12"/ b/w Love or Money--Kicks big ass! More Camille Girls and Boys- Prince Funk nobody does this better I Wonder U--- Haunting Do You Lie---Prince showcasing his versatility as only he can Anotherloverholeinyohead---12" kicks major ass!! As do ost of his 12" from this era Sometimes It Snows---It allright. Not my favorite ballad Mountains- Cool track Life Can Be So Nice---Loud, Obnoxious and just plain ole unique! Only dud IMHO is Under The Cherry Moon I think all around it might be his best. I only have the album but I'm off to buy the CD today

My least favourite is Mountains which is still pretty sweet. That's strange because Mountains is my least favorite on the disc too. It was one of my favorites right off the bat but it doesn't really grow on you like the rest of the album. It's still a great song though. It's a beautiful album which is Prince at his best but also the most collaborative of his released albums. I didn't feel a whole lot of Wendy and Lisa on his other albums except for ATWIAD and maybe the song Purple Rain. With this album you get the feeling the three of them, under Prince's direction of course , worked together on it. The flow of this album is second only to TRC in terms of Prince albums and the good vibes are second to none-- not even Lovesexy. His instincts were good then because the only song that doesn't fit that well is Kiss but it's so good we can let that slide.

There was too little rock guitar. It was just too mellow for me. I felt like I was listening to Big Band or something. I think we all favor some aspects of Prince music more than others. For me, I gotta have some hot guitar mixed in with my funk. I, also, found that famous Prince edginess lacking. It was tame! IMO "Strolling" from D&P would have fit in perfectly with "Parade".Take Chaos and Disorder for example, many think that album stinks. I, however, love its rock and roll sound. C&D is played all the time in my car. Don't get me wrong. "Parade" is a quality album. It just doesn't display those things that make ME a Prince fan. CALL ME A DREAMER 2!

I love PARADE and it has the greatest opening...the marching drums...ready to take you on a journey. This is where Prince really took to using strings in his music which made for a lush, atmospheric at times, beautiful album.
Maybe it's because it was the soundtrack to UTCM but I always envision a world in black & white when I hear it! LOL My favorite tracks... SOMETIMES IT SNOWS IN APRIL-This will be played at my funeral (hopefully not soon..eww!) I WONDER U-Sexy, haunting, funky...Wendy! GIRLS & BOYS-Funky...even funkier when he would play it live KISS-No words needed VENUS DE MILO-Lush, beautiful instrumental that takes me back to the classic movies of the 40's and 50's. LIFE CAN BE SO NICE-I really like the messy, over the top feel of this song for some reason...."scrambeled eggs..so boring.." Every minute of last night is on my face today....

This and SOTTs are my fave Prince albums, period.
Its just has its own style and every song is so completely different from the other. I thought it showed Prince's brilliance better than any other album he has done. Mountains is the best song on there, but the whole thing is just pure bliss imo.
