Prince & Tony Rich I've been an orger for quite some time now, but for some strange reason this is actually my first thread.
I just bought The Tony Rich Project's second album "Birdseye", since I'm also a fan of Babyface. In the liner notes he thanks Prince or The Artist as he was known in 1998 when it came out with these words:" The Artist, I thank you for so much inspiration and leadership you've provided for me for so long. It's a blessing to know you, tryly." He also thanks Morris Day. Can anyone shine a light on any relationship between our man and TR, since this is all news to me ? I'll have another glass of you.

Im also a big fan of Tony Rich.. Supposedly T.Rich is a huge fan of P. And there is a story floating around of Tony sitting on P's lap with Prince asking"what do u want for Christmas little boy" something to that effect.
But I reccomend getting Tony's latest cd Resurected.. Very funky with some heavy Prince influence.. My girlfriend who isnt exactly musically inclined even said when she got into my car.. man this sounds like Prince.. Tony Rich in my opinion is a very underrated musician.. Has done songwriting for other artists as well.. Boyz II Men's I SIT AWAY off of the II album is one of my fav tracks.. | |

Prince performed with Tony at an aftershow with what was became known as the superband. Prince, D'Angelo, Tony Rich and I believe Steve Wonder from memory. I think Prince played drums?
