I often get asked if I'm sexually attracted to him.

And I was once asked if he was my hero.

A vehement 'no' was the reply to both questions.

Nah. I am always very careful to whom I tell that I am a Prince fan. Non-fans can be judgemental at times.

Totally know what u mean, i only tell those close 2 me really cause non-fans can come out with such rubbish which saddens me, but hey its their loss. Btw no is my answer 2 both.

Yes I think Prince is my 'idol' or 'hero'...although Im not too far gone to admit that hes being a prick at the moment...but then I can tell my bestfriend that too so it must been that I have a balanced view?!

He certainly was my idol during the eighties when I was a teenager, my room was filled with posters and I'd listen to his music non-stop. I thought he was so cool, playing a lot of instruments himself, the girls in lingerie that surrounded him, his "Purple Rain" image with that purple coat and the bike!

But during the nineties he kinda lost me, the albums became inconsistent and his looks were a little too outrageous for me. The namechange and the "slave" thing didn't help either, LOL! In these days my love for Prince was kept a secret to most.

But nowadays he is still my favorite artist, and TRC was a great resurrection in my opinion. I admire the guy a lot, he is a fantastic musician and I have no problem anymore admitting I am a huge Prince fan...

I would say he is an Idol.

I often compare it to football.

I am a City Fan but a Prince supporter.

I wouldn't pay towards watching a football match but I have always supported Prince. Buying his albums and paying to Go to the tours.

That gets a better response than just saying I Idolise him.

I Idolise him in the same way as someone idolises Beckham, Roy Keane or Henry.

I would say he is one of my creative idols that drives me to accomplish more in my own creative work.

Nobody ever asked me that only if he took drugs or was gay. Ex Boyfriends were Jealous of my Posters and Devotion and how I compared them Mentally to him...Every single one Knew that he was First and that if a Concert was On or a TV program then Damn I gotta Watch or be there. Actually since they got alot of Sex from me while listening to his Music ..I don't Think they Cared. Whatever gave them the SEX! Whatever Inspired me.. And Prince Inspired me so very Much to do some Wild Things..I call him my Mentor....

I just get my friends saying I must Luurrve him, I humour them, for tis their loss.

I start to get all misty when I get asked the question. THen I get a far away look in my eyes and start to sing "purple Rain" very softly under my breath.

I get asked if I'm a fan. He's my favorite musician, so I guess answering in the affirmative is the way to go. To call him an "idol" is disturbing, since it implies a worship of him. He's a musician, not a god.

The only "Idol" in my music collection is Billy.

I wouldnt say he's my idol, buy I am surely a fan. And I'd tell anyone, tho I know some people can judge you. When I get some strange faces when I tell I am a Prince fan that's when I tell em "You dont know fuck about Prince".

If I say that I love P, people often assume that I think he's sexy. It's not about his musicmanship or his talent. They automatically assume sex appeal. That's the only thing that irritates me.

peeps have asked and, at a particular time, i would answer yes. i was a kid, though. i've since seen things a bit differently and can simply say yeah, i dig him a lot. but i also really like falafel.

i have a different idol now. cuz, when it comes down to it, prince may make for great times and great music but he never died for me.
