Prince and Andre 3000 Should Prince do a song with Andre 3000? I vote yes, it's cool 2 see 2days stars give it up the the master. I think Andre is very creative, he and Prince would make a cool song or songs 2gether.

They can try but Prince's collabs didn't lead anywhere in the past. Maybe an ego thing? Ich bin bei der Neue Kraft Bewegung

thats such a cool pic, i wonder how many times they've chatted and if they get on etc.
i think yes, as long as its good, which might be stating the obvious but still! ive got nothing against dre and it bugs me when people say outkast are shit or wont last, theyve been going 10 years and have released 5 albums! pretty good going. anyway i'd love to see it happen but it would have to be good and not prince trying to force dre to sound like what prince thinks he should sound like, but i think prince is over that now anyway, especially after rave!

Moderator | Personally, I'd like to see Prince make a cameo in one of Bernie Mac's poker games on his TV show. That could be pretty funny. Or let's say the young nephew wants to take up music and starts dressing up like prince and is pimping his two sisters like Dimond and Pearl?
Have you ever noticed that Bernie's choice of music on that show is usually some good old-school funk? You know he's got good taste in music. Why not? All Rights Reserved. |

Moderator | And you know Prince is like: "Can't we just worry about this tour and album first... It was spreading myself so thin that made go koo koo last time." All Rights Reserved. |

I don't neccessarily think it's the best if Prince collaborates with others artist who dig the same grooves. Harder to get a fresh perspective/ interesting song?
While enjoy some Outkast stuff, Andre is no more deserving than any other artist.

If I were Prince and Andre asked me to work together, I'd tell him to fuk off and stop ripping me off. Then I'd probably tell him to learn an instrument. WTF has Andre ever done? He's made one album by himself! And he didn't even produce it! Prince said on Leno he wanted to bring back "real" music. That is music made by instruments and not for money's sake. Well Outkast isn't anywhere close to "real" music. The ONLY thing I will give Andre credit for is sparking a new interest in Prince for those people that never knew who he was in the first place. "She's Live in My Lap" is a rip off in title and uncomfortably lyrically similar to "She's Always In My Hair." A lot of people are gonna flame me for this but when you do, provide facts as to what exactlty Andre can actually do musically. IMO Prince should collaborate with D'Angelo coz the ladies him more anyway and he knows how to play the keys. [This message was edited Mon Mar 8 9:59:59 2004 by butterballz84]

so on one hand dre is shite for supposedly not knowing any instruments, but d'angelo is better cos the ladies know him more anyway?! by the way, outkasts albums are known as some of the best, if not the best, in 90s hip hop (at least from what ive heard im sure more hip hop inclines peeps can fill in there) and dre is learning how to play the piano, the guitar (the first thing he ever wrote on guitar was hey ya 5 years ago) and i think the sax

not to beat a dead horse but I regretably own two outkast albums and he plays nothing on either one, you're right that they might be tops in hip-hop but nothing changes the fact that andre is ripping off the p image and sound. as far as d'angelo, prince himself is friends with him, he's mentioned on the crystal ball notes and referenced in a song on emancipation on the first disc (one of the earlier songs can't recall it right now) [This message was edited Mon Mar 8 10:59:20 2004 by butterballz84]
