I was traveling to Terrell Texas the summer of 1999 and all the way there I was enjoying his music, upon my arrival I had heard on local radio shows that he was going to be in Dallas for a one nite only show and the tickets were going like hot-cakes, I could'nt believe it, I about died. I've loved this man for years and I was sure I was his biggest fan. Well a friend of mine knew how much I wanted to attend this event and he went out and bought me a ticket($45.00). I was soooo happy I couldn.t hardly wait. The show was on july 11 and that was 2 days away... Well. when I had gotten up to get ready for the show that day, I couldn't figure out what to wear and I was sick with nervousness cause this was a very big dream of mine. Around 4 pm I was dressed and out the door,he was performing at a place called West End and a club called Deep Elem. I about died, I was so happy. The streets were packed with people and being a small person of only 5'0 I was standing in the crowd and being pushed and stomped on,I was having a hard time, finally we were able to get inside and as I was looking for my ticket to hand to the ticket collecter,I had realized I left home 2 hours away!!!! I was so upset I ran out side screaming at the top of my lungs and crying so hard, I just decided to go to the nearest bar. I went to the bathroom and ordered a drink thinking of how to commit suicide, not being able to stand myself, I was just gonna go home,I walked outside the back door to this bar (SCOTTY'S) and started to walk the back way to avoid all the people and who did I see getting out of a limo pulled to the back door of this building, at first I was like ya right and kept walking, but I heard the driver say have a good show, Man I was speechless. I walked a little closer and I seen all kinds of people getting out of the limo and then I saw him,wearing a beautiful matilic blue,not purple shimmering outfit,I started to cry. I wanted so much to see him, I knew that I wasn't going to,and if I ran up there people would be all over so I turned to walk away sobbing like a baby, and then I heard some one say, Hey,you alright?, I turned and he walked partially up to me and all I could say was "Oh my God", He reached out his hand and told me not to cry that everything was going to be ok. I told him what had happened and he said well, its alright, he asked if there was anything that he could do for me and he signed a dollar bill with his sign.
