I betcha there NEVER was a problem with the manufacturing of the Chocolate Invasion package ! Either Prince decided 2 cancel it because of negative reactions from a lotta fans (which might xplain the release of a song called "what do u want me 2 do?"), either he just changed his mind at the last moment as usual... What do u think? Has NPGMC's moderators said anything about it lately, or is it just like it never happened?

So it could have been a technical problem of some sort, but equally it could have been a financial, legal or any other problem - or just a cover for the fact it wasn't going to happen because there had been a change of mind.

It's best remembered as another example of a project which never happened - it serves as a reminder not to raise your expectations when these things are announced.

I personally wouldn't read anything into the release of a song entitled 'What Do U Want Me 2 Do?' as being a response to negative reaction from people over this matter.

I asked several times if it was cancelled or not. Mostly all I got was shouted down by the "fams". I did eventually get a reply from PP8. I was told that it was still indefinitely postponed.

Please keep in mind that some of the songs advertised as being on Chocolate Invasion were already made available for download to members of the 2001 music club. Making them available for download AGAIN may not be a bad idea for some fans. But for the loyal supporters who already have those songs because they were members in 2001, there darn sure BETTER be a lot more to offer than the same old songs that have already been sold!

Let me clarify...I'm thinking that all the previous club downloads will be there IN ADDITION to new material. I know that if I were running the club, I'd go ahead and make all the tracks offered in years 1-3 available for purchase again. Plenty of people have been asking for ONA piano, XPectation, etc. that you just can't get anymore. And, I think there will be new material so that members who have been on board since year 1 will have something to be excited about.

All just guesses on my part.

Prince has been "free" for a long time now, yet I'm still baffaled by what appears to be his sheer lack of understanding of what his fans want most from him. In my opinion, there's lots of things Prince could be capitalizing on, but he is not. So when people start talking about making more music available for download etc. before it actually happens, then as far as I'm concerned, such thoughts are nothing more than wishful thinking.
