Gots my tickets. The Hoyts site worked for me...
Gonna need a tub o' popcorn for this. With extra "butter". If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

Somebody please help!!! I'm a member of the NPGMC and never received an email from them (or I accidently deleted it somehow) in regards to the Musicology cinema showing. How do you order these tickets? Are they ordered in the retail section? If so, everytime I go there it says What is Musicology?...etc. and I cannot access the retail store. Why is this and how can it be resolved??? Does anybody else have the same problem when trying to access the retail section? __________________________________________________

OK, HOPE THIS HELPS:
I live in New York City. I just got home from work (I work late), it's 3am Friday nite/Saturday morning. I check my e-mail...2 messages about a screening in WILLIAMSVILLE, NY!?! and NEW ROCHELLE, NY!?! Now, I live in Astoria, Queens , which is a borough of NYC. I work and play in Manhattan, it's just cheaper in the boroughs. I check the maps andsee that New Rochelle is closest as Williamsville turns out to be way up near Buffalo. New Rochelle is about 20 minutes upstate. So I go to the Rolling Stone link and see all the cities and of course, there is a showing in NYC at Union Sq (14th st.)!! Now, thank GOD i didnt hastily buy tix for New Rochelle! I did not recieve an e-mail about the NYC show and I think it's because they see that my address is Astoria, Queens which is part of Long Island, technically. Maybe if you dont live directly in Manhattan u dont get word about it, even if it's closer, due to some technical glitchy thing. And perhaps it works like that elsewhere, geographically speaking. So..I got 5!! This really sounds like fun, I'm so hyped I know when I'm gettting the new album! Question for East Coasters: Movie is at 11pm, 2 1/2 hr show ...home by 3ish, new album in hand....throw it on and listen to whole thing? Part of it? Or wait till morning when ur "fresh"??? Oh and UK and European fans, I wouldn't fret, be patient, he's coming. There's no reason not to believe he wont do the same for the first date over there. Keep the Faith! SEE U IN LINE NPNY!! Okay, I have a few questions:
The US looks hooked up with tour dates and now a live cinema broadcast with a new free CD But what about outside US? Unless somethings are arranged, a few things are going to happen. The CD is gonna get bootlegged, and sold outside the US The broadcast will be copied, make it onto the bootleg market, thus Prince misses out on both chances. Ok, i accept that it can't go live around the world, but even on a weeks delay, this has to happen WORLDWIDE for Prince to make the most of this. The plus side for him is that for cities outside the US, the movie would act as a great promotional tool for upcoming tour ticket sales b4 he reaches those countries If it makes it 2 Australia - Im there! Actually, since this will be professionally filmed, I will whoop some ass if this doesn't make it onto a DVD. I'm cool with a Musicology Deluxe version that features this as a bonus (like Bowie's Reality Tour CD).
Or give us some of footage through the Club.

I'm convinced Prince is goint to release this as an official DVD.
Let's hope! The opening night is being professionally shot, he privately films virtually every show he does anyway and the big media push he's giving this album/tour is very promising. Just don't butcher the concert like the 'Aladdin' DVD, Prince! Show it in its' entirety! *fingers crossed*

That's because of this: October 12, 2001 AMC watches as top theater chain Regal declares bankruptcy Katie Hollar Staff Writer The bankruptcy of Regal Cinemas Inc., declared Thursday, makes AMC Entertainment Inc. the only Top 10 cinema chain to resist bankruptcy and to maintain available financing. http://www.bizjournals.co...ily63.html ===== This is the only article I could find because I was working for an ad agency who had a major studio as a client. The bankruptcies with United Artists and such started in 2000. And if I'm correct, if you declare bankruptcy, no one can take your brand. If anything, we should be frightened/proud that Prince is laying the groundwork for the next movie. Oh LAWD! Anyway, shows his brilliance in either crafting or LISTENING...the forgotten art.

Me too. I have gotten every single "announcement" e-mail at least one day after the fact. (Thank God for the Org!!!) What was more incredible was that it had personalized links to the 2 screenings in my area. U Going to the on Downtown or Greenwood Plaza? I'm doing the Greenwood Plaza. Peace COCOMF !!

alandail said: lovemachine said: How does Prince plan to sell a cd if he gives it away to everyone? Although for the record these live concerts in movie theaters are usually $10 and this one costs $15 so it's more like getting the cd at around cost.
I can't imagine it costs more than $1 to manufacture CDs, probably less. Prince probably clears as much as $10 from each ticket sold to these theater showings. Between this "giveaway" and hte concert "giveaways", Prince will probably distribute around 1 million copies of this CD before the first retail sale and lots of us will end up with multiple copies to give friends. It looks to me like this will be his most widely distributed CD since he left warner bros. I don't think it's about maximizing retail sales, it's about regaining his public visibility. I agree. I tend to think that the CD will only contain the single of "Musicology." I don't think Prince would shoot himself in the foot by giving away the ENTIRE album for free! By the way, I'll be at the Cleveland showing on the 29th! I'm psyched!

OK Cool. I got my ticket to the Minneapolis (Brooklyn Center) show. This will be fun!! Since the wife, even though she loves Prince, is not as fanatical as I and we have a kid who needs to get to bed for school the next day. I'll be going by myself. Perhaps I'll meet a few orgers there!!

if u buy a ticket 4 the show plus the cd, does this count as "selling a cd" ? mayb we c musicology on the charts if many ppl attend the shows. and eye am sure that many ppl will do so. when he comes 2 europe eye will...

I thought long & hard about going to the theater to see the live simulcast. Given the time zone difference (I'm in western MD,) the noise level that will likey occur in the theater, and the fact that I will be flying solo, I've decided not to attend. I'm still hopeful he will schedule a stop in DC, but if not, guess I'll have to try & get tix when they go on presale for Philly.

THat is why I macked so many of the posters afterwards So YOU were the one Luckily, I sent hubby out to the lobby before they ALL disappeared.
