when i first met prince in paisley park during the 2001 celebration, my first thought was, JESUS....THERE'S PRINCE....CHRIST HE'S SHORT!!!!. of course i knew he wasn't the tallest of men but actually seeing him close up was a bit of a shock.
here was my musicial hero standing in front of me and he was barely up to my shoulder. a pocket size musicial genius. i think it must be watching him over the years on the tv must have brainwashed me into thinking he wasn't THAT small (people always tend to look bigger on tv) but my god , he was that some.





ps...i am six foot tall which doesn't help.

I was in the front row at one of his concerts in 1997,and I too was amazed at how little he really is.In his movies and videos,he actually looks taller.But when you see him up close,it's kinda shocking,isn't it?

Yep, Prince is short!! I'm only 6 feet and I SWEAR I looked him in the eye while he was onstage at ONA in KC!!!

If you really want to piss him off , you should tell him that straight up!

But in all seriousness, yes Prince is short, yes he is small. The interesting thing though is that I believe his relatively small stature is one of the reasons why he was always so reclusive. But nowadays, he seems quite comfortable out in public and actually interacting with his fanbase and the public in general. And to me, that is refreshing because it is an indication that he no longer has the same hangups that he once had.

No, it's what the small men say.

He came out in the crowd and stood right beside me during the ONA soundcheck. And wow, was he tiny!
