My personal alternate "Chaos&Disorder"

I hardly ever listened to this album because I hate some
of the songs on it so much that I dread the thought of
not being able to hit "skip" in time.

wink

So I decided to make me an alternate copy of this album
which runs thus:

01. Chaos & Disorder
02. I Like It There
03. Dinner With Delores
04. Same December
05. Calhous Sq.
06. Zanalee
07. Hide The Bone
08. Into The Light
09. I Will
10. Da Bang
11. Dig U Better Dead
12. Had U

For me personally, this makes the whole things much
easier to digest and it's by far my fav piece of o(+> at
this moment.

I did rip it off the album but somehow, it just
mysteriously disappeared from my harddrive into
the waste folder

I like your version for the most part, but "I Rock, Therefore I Am" should be on there. It's part of the whole theme of the album.

I think IstenSzek is right. That one should go. I've never liked it. I actually prefer Right The Wrong.

I think they're both horrible. I thought about taking off
Zanalee as well and replace it with "Da Bang" but then I
decided to just leave it and add an extra song.

No way - The Same December, I Like It There and Zannalee are all cracking songs, mucho better than DWD, IMO.

I think it's a decent album, spoilt only by Right The Wrong and I Rock There I Am - I like this version you've done.

hmmm

No. lol. "I Rock" just sounds way too polished and lame.
At least "Dig U Better Dead" sounds more rushed and demo
like.

That's why I didn't include any too glam songs, to keep
the album as raw and demo sounding as possible.

One might even call it the 90's "Dirty Mind" [bows his
head and patiently awaits Dansa's 'beeyotch' slap].

"I Rock" is definitely overdone. And I'll give u that "Dig U" sounds rushed and demo-like -- in a crappy, underdone kinda way. I've just never found anything to like in that song.

Now I'll sit back and watch for Dansa as well. wink

You're saying "Dig U" is BETTER than Right the Wrong?

Right the WRONG, BRUDDA!

P.S. Dig U is shit.

Dig U makes me embarrassed for Prince - and myself.

Right The Wrong, on the other hand, is a fanTAStic song...love to sing along to it...love the lyrics...love the melody and the hee-hawness of it all.

"Can you hear me baby? I'm 6 feet in the grave!!!"
No confusion, no tears. No enemies, no fear. No sorrow, no pain. No ball, no chain.

Sex is not love. Love is not sex. Putting words in other people's mouths will only get you elected.

some of his experiments (in this case, ragga rapping) just do not work.

Excuse me, but in what way is "Dig U Better Dead"
'ragga rapping' ?

I mean, "The Sun The Moon The Stars", ok, that's
what I call [lame] ragga rapping.

But I just can't hear it anywhere on "Dig U". It
is on "I Rock, Therefore I Am".

Perhaps that's what you meant??

Nice changes..I agree that "I Rock..." is the obvious song to get the axe. I removed it from my C&D folder on my hard drive. it's one of those songs that I try to forget ever existed. I listen to "Right The Wrong", but I understand why people hate it, becuase it is a weird song.

But as someone said, if you take off those two songs, it is a much stronger album. I love the title track...I always loved that jam at the end of "Peach". There's nothing else outstanding on it, but all the rest of the songs are pretty good and moderately enjoyable to listen to.

Peep the lyrics. "I Rock.." is not a bad song. The line "I'd rather put on somethin' that the world wouldn't dare" is indicative of the type of artist he is.
I think the album is interesting. The fact that it was his last for WB, and that it was recorded in 10 days makes it interesting enough for me.

you're right but it still sounds better than Tony M. the ragga rappin would be cool if were just him playing the bass by himself...but some of the "breaks" in the middle of the beat I think would drive him crazy (now weeeeerd-it!)

Being the great reggae fan that I am I was totally blown away when listening to "The sun the moon and the stars" for the first time, the music changes almost unnoticeablely to a reggae beat and he starts rappin in a raggamuffin kind of way. I did not see it coming, I was blown away I'm telling you. Incredible song.

Aint heard "Chaos & Disorder". I was considering buying it but I've read here that it's more of a rock record and the Prince I really dig is the Funk Prince. Should I get it anyhow?
