1992 D&P tour - sydney - flew over from dunedin, new zealand.....a looong time waiting 4 this.....

ONA - Australian tour....flew over 2 austraila again...same venue - much better seats and a soundcheck/afterpartty.....

the ride has its ups and downs...thats what life is isn't it?


I am 32..seen P in the flesh 2 x and still think the 1984 - 1988 era was his best....so far....TRC rekindled those feelings...

My fave era is '87-'88 (SOTT, Lovesexy, Camille, The Black Album) and I am 30 years young.

I am the only one who will say this but I've said it before and I'll say it again. My favorite era is: TGE to NPS. That's right, Gold Experience, Come, Chaos & Disorder, Emancipation, Crystal Ball, The Truth and New Power Soul. (You could even put OLD FRIENDS FOR SALE in there since he delivered it to WB the at the same time as C&D they just didn't put it out until later.)

I call this the "Let's not PRETEND we're married" period. He was into Mayte and his upcoming family. "If U want to make love with me- you got to wear my ring. Cause I don't need no mistress I'd much rather be bound, lets find us a preacher so we can get down down down!!" THAT IS HOT! And yes it from COME ON on New Power Soul.

Musically is this era as exciting as 1999-SOTT? Probably not. But emotionally, spritiually, artistically... the whole enchilada it appeals to me the most. I listen to C&D and NPS more than 1999 and Dirty Mind. No lie.

I loved Prince during the Purple Rain thru the Under the Cherry Moon era when the Revolution was his band and I didn't think he could get any sexier than that, but my all time ultimate favorite era was the Diamond and Pearls era around 91 and 92. When I first seen him with that beard the beginning of 90 right before Grafitti Bridge came out, it was something for me to get used to and I didn't think he could pull it off. But around 91 when he fixed his hair up in a pone and he had that beard along with it and when performed on Arsenio the first time, Oh my God that was it he was too sexy. I love seeing pictures of him around that time. One of my faves: the picture cover of "Thunder" the bootleg CD of the Diamonds and Pearls show in London.

Great question. Prince has gone through so many different looks and styles that it's not like asking this question about anyone else. Few artists have remade themselves as many times as Prince. Anyway, my personal favorite is the 1999 era, right before he hit superstardom, when he still had a great deal of mystery about him and was in his prime of coolness. You know, as soon as an artist is Purple Rain huge they are already over the hill in alot of ways, so I think 1999 was his greatest period in terms of his charisma, his confidence, his songwriting, assertion of his worldview and his sense of fashion along with the weirdos he had in his band, the best. But you could ask me tomorrow and I might say the Parade era or Sign of the Times, hard to pick.
