Prince and Britney???? I have been hearing this rumour alot lately and I was just checking out a Britney fan site and once again the story popped up. Britney during an interview mentioned that on her SHOWTIME special March 28th she will have a special guest, she describes the guest as a male artist that has influenced her in many ways??? Obviously its not Michael because of his troubles, its also the day before Prince officially starts his tour and if its true it gives him a chance to be exposed to that Showtime Crowd tuning in, obviously a Prince-Britney duet should scare us but I wouldnt mind him playing and her dancing, while he sings only. if that's the case, Prince mind as well be singing with N'Sync or Backstreet boys.
that's an all time low move for Prince if indeed happens. I respect Prince as a musician who isn't concerned with commercial aspect of music. Britney is not even a musician who has no absolute talent. she just a commercial product of corporate America. i hope Prince doesn't fall for this kind of cheap PR move just to sell all of sudden.

Hey I agree, this is my reasoning behind the RAP Prince used to include in his 90's cds, it was totally unneccessary and took away from his work, Even though Beyonce has more talent than Britney I felt that PRINCE performing with Beyonce was unneccessary too, he could have pulled it off even stronger by himself, BUT i do understand that he has to open himself up to a wide range of viewers, basically he needs his name out there again, he needs positive press unlike the press of a michael J or a Janet J. Although I am sure this BRITNEY-PRINCE thing is another rumour in a long list of rumours to come, i wouldnt count it out, and it will at least be more interesting than that PRINCE-EVE mess on RAVE. It's probably Justin. He's a male artist and at one point he was right on top of her. Can't get much more influential than that.

Get a grip! Remember Vanity, Appolonia et al? At least Britney managed a career.

I just made a topic almost similar to this. I bet cha that that ho is gonna try to go for Prince next. She's already been on stage with Michael Jackson, Madonna, and now Prince is probably next. The reason is I noticed Britney, Christina, and Justin (all former Mouskeers and teen pop stars) have been going all out to try to prove to the world how adult they are now and I just got this feeling that after Justin tried to outdo Britney and Madonna with the Superbowl thing with Janet and his plan backfired and hers got positive exposure, she probably would try to get nasty herself on stage with Prince. I think she thinks that she such the ultimate sex goddess now that she could seduce Prince and make him lose his religion. Everytime you turn up she is always doing some shit with men including that stupid very short stint Vegas wedding and I think she will do it just to make Justin feel like a punk bitch again like she and M did at the VMAs and I know this is a joke, but to try to outdo Beyonce when she was onstage with him, definitely not the singing part, more shock stuff.

I don't say this to defend Britney but in a recent Rolling Stone she listed both Purple Rain and Sign O The Times as among her ten best albums of all time. I forget what they ranked. I believe Thriller was number one on her list. Of course it's possible that she included them to try to make herself appear a bit more educated, musically speaking. I think all of her picks were from the 80's or 90's so her musical taste can't be too diverse. But I don't think it would be the end of the world if they collaborated. Someone else already made the point that Prince has a history of working with women who aren't the best singers (Vanity, Apollonia, Carmen Electra). The exposure could be good for him. And maybe, just maybe, some Britney fans would listen to some of Prince's music and realise what they have been missing.

Britney's "Slave" had that certain purple 'fluence. And we are waiting for Eves to get rid of their fig leaves! In other words, a return to innocence for us all. [This message was edited Fri Mar 5 10:49:28 2004 by andyf] --------
