I'm going to have to agree with him on that one. Although I would have Sheila on drums and add Susannah on backing vocals.

He'd probably change Michael B to John Blackwell. What is Slave 2 The Rhythm? Biography? Who wrote it?

brilliant book published in g britain in 1997 by little brown and co.
also published in 1998 by warner books.

by liz jones = who joined the sunday times in 1988, where she is now a senior editor.her 1st job was on company magazine and she has also contributed to mirabella and interview.she lives in hackney east london and this is her 1st book.

i copied the above from the inside cover.

the book covers his carrear from the start 2 about 98.it is full of comments from vanity , wendy, and pp peeps who can talk bout p,...ie; the ones who didnt sign "keep your mouth shut" clauses.

It's not a brilliant book. Amongst the many problems is that she took other peoples interviews with Prince (Oprah etc) and made them appear to be her own, she made up or was wrong on facts, didn't interview nearly enough relevent people, and she is clearly biased. Other then that it is a brilliant book rolleyes

I could see the book being an introduction but honestly it's not very good. Have you read "Dance Music Sex Romance"?

This Favorite band is a quote the author ripped right out of a Chris Rock VH1 interview. What fails to get mentioned is that Prince then goes on about how he'd actually would have the band he has (then).
"New Power slide...."

Yeah but he was just trying to be nice about his answer when he said "I'd have the band I have now" because there's no way he would choose that weak ass line up over the ones he mentioned first nod

I remember he said that to Chris Rock. Then he changed his mind and said he liked the band he had at the time.

Prince's favorite band will always be the one he has at the time he's asked. If he wasn't satisfied with his band, you KNOW homeboy would be handing out pink slips like government cheese.

He changes the band based on the sound he wants/needs at the particular time. He may love the line up mentioned here, but could you honestly see that line up playing stuff from, say, TGE? Or TRC?

Each member of the band is chosen because of something they bring to the mix. Depending on what mix he wants, he switches out members until he gets the sound and personality that he wants.
I've gone to find myself. If I should return before I get back, keep me here.

I say bullshit. Prince said in a Rolling Stone interview back around 1985 that Mark Brown was the best bass player and if he didnt have him, he would stop having bass in his music.
...cause FACE said so!!!
