I know that it was mostly due to the hysteria surrounding the Batman movie but isn't it cool that Batdance was a number one single? It's got to be the weirdest track ever to top the charts. It makes me giggle whenever I hear it on the radio because it is totally unlike anything else!

the total uniqueness and weirdness is what is so fabulous about Prince!

i remember dancing to this song back then and a whole line of us would take the person beside us' leg and play it like an air guitar . . . too silly.

it was a great album as well, very industry!!

Listen,I agree that BATDANCE was like TOTALLy breakthrough for a SOUNDTRACK album. HOW that NERD DANNY ELFMAN won in this CATEGORY over PRINCE is a CRIME!

It got to #2 in the UK...kept out by that bloody "join me dancin naked in the rain" song
