Assuming that you've all made Prince compilations...

Assuming that you've all made Prince compilations, either on CD-R or tape and whether using official songs or unreleased material, what have you named your compilation(s)?

My last compilation of unreleased songs I entitled 'The Vault - Rebirth Of The Flesh', with that classic Camille track opening the collection.

And when I burnt a CD of my favourite NPGMC downloads from Year 1, I called it 'Millenium Edition' (Yep, sad I know).

What about you?

I remember making a compilation in my teens, one side of which was called, "Hope" and one side of which was called "Despair". lol

Damn teenage angst! "Despair" was a load of broken heart songs etc., and hope was just funky, happy stuff.

Isn't it weird though, when you look back at these things you almost cringe with embarrassment.

Just like when I used to tell everybody just how cool Prince was, changing his name and how amazing it was that it was his spirit that told him to do it.

I Made 2 CDs for a friend of mine containing some of Prince's more irreverent or sublime tracks, entitled "Baconskin 1" and "Baconskin 2." I did a tape of my Dad's favorite Prince songs well over 10 years ago. Amazingly, other than those and tapes of all my 12" records. no other compilations.

Mind you, I'm quite proud of the title of my single CD with Xpectation and the C-Note downloads.

Before the 'C-Note' thing came about, I called it 'Xpectation' and 'Beyond Xpectation'. Damn, I'm so clever rolleyes

For a friend that only knew the hits from the 80's, I made a 2CD set of mostly newer stuff, called " Moanin' and Bonin' " (divided between PG and nasty stuff, respecfully)

Madhouse6

my first compilation was in 1988. Double tape.
Tape 1 was called "Rock" and second was "Soul",
1 contained all rock songs and funnily enough tape 2 contained the soulful tracks - hence Rock'nSoul - The Minneapolis way. It was my first compilation as it took ages to record from vinyl as you had to keep switching albums and then begin recording at the right time - some of you will know what I mean!!

My son (Mashed Potatoe Kid) is always doing me various compilations to play on my way to work and with the changes in technology can record these within minutes...
