PRINCE'S LAST DECEMBER

dead
We had Elvis, the worlds biggest heart throb but all he's remembered 4 is being a fat bastard who died on a toilet seat. neutral

Then there's the 'genius' of kurt Cobain and Michael Hutchens who'll be rembered as the assholes who killed themselves. neutral

Everyone will 4get that OJ Simpson was one of the greatest American Footballers that ever lived-he'll be rembered as the murderer that got away with it neutral

The nameMichael Jackson will probably replace the word Paedophile in the English dictionary in about 20 years and people will 4get he was once a great performer-the biggest star on earth neutral

So what will Prince be remembered 4 hmm

I reckon:

1. The name change because people will say in years 2 come it was proof he was mad
2. His mastery of so many instruments
3. The song DARLING NIKKI because it lead 2 the introduction of Parental advisory labels on naughty music sold to the public.

4. I know it sounds weird but I think actually believe that the biggest thing Prince will be remembered 4...he hasn't even done yet, he'll probably become some world religious leader starting a new religion or something neutral

Wouldn't that accolade go to MJ, given that he was the first black musician to be played on MTV?

I think he'll be remembered most for the name change. Either that or, as you suggest, something he hasn't done yet, like having an epiphany in the middle of concert, whereupon he renounces his religion and tosses one off onto the front row fams; or suddenly decides he doesn't like sax anymore and beats Candy to death with his hohner.

BTW, Welcome back!
Lemmy, Bowie, Prince, Leonard. RIP.

I would think Kiss as well, lots of people seem to know that one, particularly since Tom Jones murdered it.

nod

Kiss, for sure.

I remember when TMBGITW came out thinking it was a clever little release, because quite a few of my lovestruck friends who didn't particularly think much of the song or Prince in general, were buying it as presents for their ladies. I'm not saying that was the reason for the success, but it shifted more copies where i lived as a result...

Nothing compares 2 U-S O'connor

Yeah, I think you're right, and I also think it was the main reason for it's success. Without that lyric it would probably have been largely ignored, after all it is a fairly mediocre song. I think it's a shame that it was his first (and at this stage probably his only) Ireland/UK number one. After all the hits he's had over the years, and this is the only one to hit the top spot. sigh

You forgot Manic Monday lol

So when are we getting our next "Name this Prince song" thread ?
It's been over a week, you know.
In the absence of anything better to do I've actually had to do some work.
