Jesus Christ he played Bambi.. remember hes playing Old school cuts for the last time,Bambi is an excellent song, and to those who think hewas disrespectful ya'll really need 2 quit reading into things and just let the cat play, instead of reading into it. dont get me wrong now im not flaming anyone at all, but just dig the Music and be thankful hes on the Promotion circuit playing like he always wanted.

can ya get to that?...

Bambi??? Very odd choice. Would be cool to see this of course. Maybe he played several and they won't show all of them?

Was the performance before they sat down and talked? Or after? It would have been cool to hear him do Bambi. One has to admit, with Prince's track record of playing mindgames, you can't help but wonder about him choosing that song out of his vast catalogue to play on a show hosted by an outspoken lesbian talk-show host.

yeah showing his sense of humour i reckon

anyway heres the setlist ass posted by someone on the NPGMC and other people there backed it up

He played "Soul Man intro/Kiss", "Nothing Compares 2 U", "Bambi" and I
I'm not sure they'll air this, but then he played that new medley of "Love Bizarre/Glamorous Life/I Wanna B Your Lover/I Feel 4 U", then closed with "Controversy". We all begged for him to come back (even Ellen), but no go. Great set though.

sorry i cant credit the person, to be honest i ddnt bother checking their username!

I attended the taping of the ELLEN show today and does anyone find it interesting he performed "BAMBI" on her show?

With the lyrics of this song being what they are, does anyone think he purposely sent a message through his music to the target audience of this show.

I just found it to be a very interesting choice of song for this particular show. Almost borders on disrespectful to ELLEN if it was an intentional shot at her life style and the majority of her viewers.

What ya think?

Judging by their "coolness" on the pic i guess the song was much more an "hommage" paid to Helen. Remember, he did dedicate this song to girls who like girls once in Tokyo. Pkus he's been on the oscar after party held by Elton john and they were reported to be chatting together in the VIP area.

The lyrics of Bambi are not anti lesbian to me. It's just the story of a guy who's frustrated because of his unrequited love affair w/ Bambi.

The lyrical content was not that talked about before.... This song is like 20 years old!!!

You fools! It's clear the reason he played Bambi is that he's trying to get Ellen in bed.

Only 45 minutes 'till it airs here! woot!

Sure, they didn't play the performance of Bambi, but there was a commercial for the Furnature Monkey on so it evens out.

y'know, i think p may have had a bit of a bad flashback for a sec cuz ellen asked 'im sumfin like if he'd ever worn boxer shorts (or shorts, basically) before...he might've remembered them red shitz with the suspenders from 25 years back.
