i must admit there have been times when someone has asked me what music do i like and i have not admitted i like prince. sometimes u just dont want a negative reaction or it depends what sort of company i am in if i will admit prince is by far my favourite music artist.
i tend to find the more the person knows about music...maybe a musician myself or has a wide knowledge of music....the more they can understand why i like him so much so the next time you bump into a westlife fan, just keep your mouth shut

I don't bring prince's name up in conversation much. There's a few albums of his that I like, and I just leave it at that.

I don't think I've ever denied it, but there was a time I was travelling on a V-line (regional Victoria, Australia) train when some blokes asked my friend was listening to and he said without hesitation that he was listening to Prince. I've never denied that I'm a fan. But anyone who really knows me, already knows that I'm a fan, so it's not like it's something that I would need to discuss with anyone either.

But that being said, Prince built a name for himself by being "weird". And because of that, a lot of non-fans have a "weird" understanding of him. But I've long since outgrown the need to try to explain to people why I like his music or the need to try to convince others to see him in a different light.

So in the rare cases where I have been asked if I'm a fan, I simply say "yes" and leave it at that.

despite the new artists out there today, prince is so far ahead of his time. His music is very creative, and that's why i'm a proud fan.
