I noticed when Ellen asked if he writes music every day, he responded that he thinks about music every day. No more "one song a day, until the day I die," like he told Oprah?

I always wondered when he would finally slow down the pace. How long do you guys think it takes Prince to write a song nowadays? Do you think he does them start to finish, like he used to?

How many actual songs (as opposed to instrumentals) has he released since TRC in 2001?

would it be only two?

noone knows. since he's been "free" the release of bootleg tracks has fallen dramatically, so noone can tell anyway. he could write more than he used to, or less. i imagine its less simply cos he's chilled now and (we presume!) very happily married. but just cos we have 2 songs with lyrics and vox since 2001 doesnt mean in the slightest he's written just 2 songs!

The leaks at PP have pretty much been plugged up, so less unreleased stuff is getting out as a watermark of his output.

But it is my educated guess that he writes a less music these days than he used.

Well, as he said on Leno or Tavis Smiley, he has other things in his life now that take up his time, most notably his new found Spirituality!!
Through my knowledge of Jehovahs Witnesses, it becomes your way of life now, with meeting attendance, the feild ministry(the door 2 door preaching work), then u have personal and private study 2 do for preparing for meetings as well as keeping yourself Spiritually strong, then theres family responsibilities like devoting time for your wife/husband and children, then also spending time with the other brothers and sisters in socializing and helping and encouraging them in the Faith!!

So, no wonder his music output has decreased a bit!!!
