Exactly how much have you spent on Prince related merchandise and what exactly would that buy him?

I have bought...

Every album on CD (except for The Black Album ad Rave Into The Joy Fantastic)
Imports of a couple of CD Albums
Repeat copies of some albums due to wear and tear
Cassettes of all albums except for "Prince"
Vinyl copies of all albums released prior to 1993
Numerous CD Singles
Numerous Cassette Singles
Numerous 7" and 12" singles
Limited edition picture discs
Every Video released
All DVD's released (Except for Rave 2000)
NPG Membership for years 2 and 3
Concerts (approximately 10)
Paisley Parties
Merchandise from the NPG Store (Both the Camden Store and the NPGMC)
Posters and Merchandise from concerts
Tour books


The combined total of what I have spent on Prince (Not including books about him and bootlegs, as that money doesn't go to Prince) must be well over £1000.

I figure that I have paid for a luxury chair in his recording studio, 27 sets of guitar strings, A pair of high heel shoes and 4 years worth of Cap'n Crunch.

What have you bought for Prince?

it's hard to say for me, cuz the majority of stuff i have in my stash is either bootleggage (which i got all via trading and/or askin about) or stuff i bought on vinyl and was cheap to get. the most expensive prince items i own are two posters:

--controversy promo poster ($50)
--purple rain movie poster ($65--woulda cost me $10 more but the dude i got it from gave me a discount)

the combined amount of those two posters alone would be enough to buy p some groceries.

I would like to get a dvd of his videos does anyone have this?? or know of where I can find it??I only have a Tower records near me and they do not carry it.

All books on Prince, I have just received Dez's book
All Uptown magazines, courtesy of www.madhousemusic.co.uk, now I am currently collecting the Controversey Magazines, then after that other regular periodicals
Tourbooks
Bootlegs that I find at record and CD Fairs
I scrounge around second hand record stores for any Prince rarities, also at flea markets
Videos, DVDs(cant wait for the re-releases this year!!)
Also I buy any magazine or newspaper which has any Prince articles in them and clip them out(WOW!!! Even at 46, I am the oldest teenager around!!)
Then of course theres concerts, afterpartys, then, hence I purchase memorabilia from there!!
The $25 membership fee(this is my first time joining the Club, as it was too expensive before to join. Also I had 2 use my dads credit card 2 join)

Prince certainly is a very expensive artist 2 follow, but I wouldnt have it any other way!!!

dude...i think you all should check out soumynona's profile.....now thats some $ sepnt on prince and thats only the cd part of his collection!!

Personally I havent a clue where these fans get the money from to get all this stuff!! They must have disconnection notices all the time from the utilities people, demanding payments or get disconnected!! Also I bet they live on bread and water and go around dressed in a loincloth and live in shacks in the woods somewhere!!
I havent been 2 a record or CD fair in a few months due 2 things like bills and my husband being in and out of work during the winter months and car repairs and taxes 2 pay for(car tax is extortionate over here in the UK )
Also I tend 2 put my family first!!

the thing is, you don't notice it as much if it's just a CD every year and the singles as they come out. It's all of the stuff collected over the past 25 years of his career that just adds up a lot when you think about it

I got my Down Parka jacket with the symbol on the back (i love that jacket) it was $400.00
and it was totally worth it!

No disconnection notices.. I just obeyed Prince first and got my education versus buying a pair of shoes(this led to a good paying job).

I don't like to think of all of the money I've spent on Prince...it pains me to think about it

I'm hoping he'll have a hit soon so more people will become fans...then I'll have a better chance of finding someone who wants to buy a massive Prince collection!
