Its time for Princes.... [b]Star on the walk of fame!
With all thats happening in 2004 I think it would be a good time to give Prince his star. Who and how makes this happen? Can we vote on this? Anyone have any links to reach the person in charge? Or does the industry do this on their own? "Everybody's looking 4 the ladder, everybody wants salvation of the soul. The steps u take r no easy road. But the reward is great 4 those who want 2 go.."

There was an attempt back in 1993 by Controversy fanzine. Unfortunately, it failed. Do not hurry yourself in your spirit to become offended, for the taking of offense is what rests in the bosom of the stupid ones. (Ecclesiastes 7:9)

AFAIK, this is how the process works:
Anybody can nominate a celebrity to receive a Walk of Fame star. You call the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce and ask to be sent a nomination form. The form is then sent to the Walk of Fame Selection Committee. The nomination must be approved by the city of Public Works and then the Los Angeles City Council. It is my understanding they choose approximately 18 celebrities a year to receive a star. If the celebrity is chosen to receive a star, the celebrity (or their fans or some other group) must pay about $15,000 which covers the cost of making the star and the subsequent ceremony. While I doubt it will happen for Prince in the near future, I agree he deserves a star more so than some other celebrities who have received one in recent years, such as David Spade or Britney Spears. Although, imo, the very fact that "celebrities" like David Spade et. al. are getting Walk of Fame stars shows how increasingly meaningless an "honor" it is these days to receive one. It seems it all comes down to money these days. [This message was edited Mon Mar 8 12:51:24 2004 by PrimordialOoze] [This message was edited Mon Mar 8 12:53:36 2004 by PrimordialOoze]

Because Prince is THE star and if Prince doesn't have a star then who is a star? Plus when I go to California I can take my picture with it In fact I may get a second job to pay the $15,000 because then I would be the alltime greatest fam.
