Alot of you are saying that this album is overproduced and I'd have to agree.Because the album was delayed so many times,Prince tinkered with many of these songs. The original version of "Endorphimnmachine" is superior to the glossy version that appears on 'TGE'.

Why do so many of you guys hate on the Gold Experience? What specifically do you not like about it? In my opinion it was Prince's last great album.

Nothing is wrong with the Gold Experience my friend it is an excellent album! I think that on this site when people bitch about Prince's 90's output the one thing they love to do is. Forget about Diamonds and Pearls a great Pop R&B album. The Symbol album the Gold Experience and Emancipation. Just worthless negativity really. I agree with you though I thought that this was a very very strong album by him and I enjoy it as much now today as when it came out.
Peace

here's what I did some time ago:

The Gold Experience

1 p control (vh1 version)(3:57)
2 npg operator (0:11)
3 interactive (3:03)
4 endorphinmachine (original version)(3:51)
5 shhh (7:16)
6 npg operator (0:06)
7 days of wild (studio version)(3:44)
8 npg operator (0:17)
9 the most beautiful girl in the world (4:25)
10 dolphin (4:58)
11 acknowledge me (5:27)
12 ripopgodazippa (4:39)
13 npg operator (0:19)
14 now (4:30)
15 love sign (edit)(3:43)
16 npg operator (0:31)
17 319 (3:05)
18 npg operator ((0:09)
19 shy (edit)(4:32)
20 hide the bone (edit)(4:28)
21 billy jack bitch (5:31)
22 I hate u (single version)(4:23)
23 gold (edit)(6:29)

here's what I would like 2 change...

change P control with the normal album version, take off days of wild studio version and put in days of wild live from paisley park 13/2/94,change tmbgitw with the mustang mix,319 extended version, not edited versions of hide the bone, shy,I hate u and gold....but it won't fit on 1 single cd...dont' know what 2 do! sad

You know what's ironic? The biggest haters of these 90's Prince albums are the hardcore Prince fans themselves.

TGE is slickly produced, yes, but that just makes it stand out from his 80's material.

It's a great album, full of fantastic songs.

The Gold experience:

In my view it is overproduced, it sounds to clean, the live versions sound better to me.

I miss DOW and Interaktive and I could leave out we march and Gold in this version, it is just too poppy.

I do like, BJB, Dolphin, Shh, Endrophine Machine, PC.

Prince has an ability to choose the wrong singles as proven here.

Peace
