Agreed about the "replications of the act" flub, but that gaffe sullies "Lovesign," not "We March."


The segues are a bit annoying. But, I like the changes to TMBGITW. "Gold," while enjoyable, always seemed a bit pretentious to me, sort of forced.

It's over produced. Too slick.

More specifically:
- Endorphin Machine: The original version sans the cowbells is better.
-P Control: after a listen or two it starts to grate on the nerves; and it's not a very good song; same thing goes for Now.
-There were better songs left off the album like Acknowlege Me (minus the stupid rap) and Interactive

I LOVE the Gold Experience. It's my favorite Prince album actually, along with Parade and Rainbow Children. The whole "Gold" album is just so strong, and it represents so many different sides of Prince.

Granted, I know that not everyone shares this opinion!

TGE was one of his better albums of the 90's and "Dolphin" was an excellent song with excellent lyrics.

Great album. It's very polished, some say over-polished but it has a nice clean feeling to me.

Pussy Control-- can be annoying but it grew on me
Endorphine Machine-- great track
Shhh!-- musical perfection, drum and guitar. Best cut on the album.
We March-- crappy beat, but it works on the album. Wish he would've tried harder to fit Acknowledge Me, Days of Wild, or Interactive on the album but oh well.
TMBGITW-- what happened to the radio version. This was a let-down.
Dolphin-- another great track
Now-- cool song. Nothing spectacular but pleasant.
319-- fun
Shy-- Straaaange... but I like it.
Billy Jack Bitch-- Love the guitar parts.
I Hate U-- One of Prince's great love-scorned songs. How can you not like the court scenes?
Gold-- Nice try Prince.... but not quite.

There's nothing wrong with The Gold Experience.It's a solid,consistent pop album with many highlights.My only gripe with the album is the fact that so many great songs were left off it...

I removed the songs "P Control" and "We March" (save these for B-sides) but added five other strong songs,making this a kickass 15-track album.

Great album, over-produced (delayed release and he couldn't resist tinkering I guess), but funny to hear the crowd chanting "Pussy Control" when it was played live. Classic moment!

Interesting that so many people are hating on "Pussy Control", especially since its about the only 90s era track that I ever hear in clubs at all.

In my opinion, TGE is his best 90s album, hands-down. If he had included "DOW" and "Acknowledge Me", and left off "We March", it would have been perfect.

I would have replaced We March with Interactive.

I have never liked this album... somehow it sounds so plastic and over-everything... dunno, i guess its just me.

BUT i do adore two songs on it:
TMBGITW
and
I HATE U

Classic Prince songs.

It's those masculine rock songs on the album i dont like.

easily best album of the 90's and without a doubt one of his best

and to think it could have been 2wice as good
