NPGLOVER

boots

Like James Brown and George Clinton, Prince is known for going that extra mile on stage. The innovator should have recorded three or four live albums for commercial release by 1999, but since he didn't, some fans have turned to bootlegs for live Prince recordings. Had Paris Parade been a commercial release instead of a bootleg, it probably would have been a huge seller. Recorded live in Paris on August 25, 1986, this double-CD boasts superb sound quality and finds Prince turning his attention to a variety of material with generally exciting results. At the time, Prince was backed by the Revolution, which serves him well on major hits like "Purple Rain," "When Doves Cry," "Controversy" and "1999." Prince provides a generous dose of funk, offering sweaty performances of "Head," "Kiss," "D.M.S.R." and "A Love Bizarre," and he gets into some of his psychedelic fare (including "Raspberry Beret" and "Christopher Tracy's Parade") without overemphasizing it. Collectors can attest to the fact that Prince is one of the most exhaustively bootlegged artists of the 1980s and 1990s—at swap meets, it isn't usual to see collectors plowing through 40 or 50 Prince bootlegs and asking, "How's the sound quality on this one?" If the bootleg in question is Paris Parade, fans won't be disappointed by either the sound quality or the performance

Never mind Paris Parade, I still can't understand why WB never released the Syracuse Purple Rain show, or the Lovesexy Dortmund show on cd.

Someone could have made a fortune off an official copy of them.
