musical integrity or sales? I was reading Chaka Khan's biography and she was saying how after her WOMAN I AM CD in the early 90's , Warner Bros came to her and told her that she needs to try to sing more "commercial" like FAITH and Mary J because they were what was selling at the time. If I was Chaka, I woulda got up and knocked every tooth outta WB mouth.

the music business is a business ! a business sole purpose is to make a profit the more they sell the more they profit , so no a label will not take on an artist who is recording good music which isnt selling !
