well first off Prince fixes everything when he plays LIVE.. soo everything eventually is good 
but... Graffiti Bridge Come Rave * sure each has a few good/great songs.. but over all I rarely listen to those albums straight through | |

Rave and the all time biggest turd to ever float in the purple punch-bowl: New Power Soul (or as I like to call it, that crappy CD with the hidden track that is better than the rest of the album). Oh, and I must also site the craptacular piece of shit known as Gold Nigga! A whole album of Tony M rapping?

I agree it sucks, but its really a maxi-single, not an album Kamasutra~WTF??? If this was his way of saying I LOVE U, no wonder they divorced. He's done better, but he's done far worse N.E.W.S.~ Personally, I have spun it twice...as background music when cleaning up, not to actually LISTEN to it. Gotta disagree. Its a good, solid album with heavy jazz overtones. QUIT HATIN' ON NPS EDIT!  U KNOW THAT CD BUMPS~

Since I really like some aspect of just about all of Prince's CDs, I had to think: If you were stuck on a desert island, what three albums would you NOT want to be stuck with? So....
1. Kamasutra. This saddens me, because I'm a big classical music fan and I got the impression that this was Prince's attempt at moving in that direction. Major failure. Not just a drink coaster, I'd cut this up, emobss it and make some nice eariings and pins out of it. 2. Rave. This has got to be the most embarassing moment to be a Prince fan. It's what happens when, to paraphrase his lyric, Prince follows trends instead of trends following him. He sold out his artistic integrity to chase after chart position and just came off sounding lame. I might miss never hearing Sun, Moon and Stars again, but I could learn to live with that. Might use it to signal planes flying overhead..... 3. The Gold Experience. I know some of ya'll think this is a high point, but it just doesn't resonate for me. I like Shy and Now....that's about it. I've gone to find myself. If I should return before I get back, keep me here. | |

I'll never understand why people don't like N.E.W.S and XPECTATION. Maybe the music is too challenging, maybe it is not foonky enough. I don't know. But it is an example of excellent musician craftmanship.... unless you prefer the top ten of your local radio.... Peace | |

And somehow, D&P wasn't quite as vomit-inducing as Rave -- even with Tony M murking it up....I've gone to find myself. If I should return before I get back, keep me here. | |
