Prince's early nineties singles

I'm kind of new here so this is probably rehasing past discussions but what do you guys think of Prince's early nineties single releases? I'm talking about when he started doing remixes just like everyone else was doing at that time. As a fan I find it absurd that someone like Prince, who has so many unreleased songs, would stoop to remixes. How cool would it have been if he released singles with 2-4 new songs similar to what many groups in England do? And the remixes were awful. Probably the worst music he has ever been associated with. Do any of you like any of the remixes on these releases?

The Gett Off Remixes were fantastic. The Space Remix is fantastic. The Let it Go was good.

You're right about Space, forgot about that one. I also like some of the Letitgo stuff. You really dug the Gett Off remixes. Well, I hate that song so maybe that's why I despise the single so much.

I agree with you rialb. P had/has so much stuff he could have released; stuf so much better that the "Jnr Vasquez" crap he was coming out with.

When Power Fantastic came out on the Hits/B-Sides album, it merely highlighted the cheap way in which Prince had been treating his record buying public over the previous few years.

PS - I know that Mr Vasquez did not contribute to the early nineties singles remixes....it's just the early nineties remixes sounded as bad as a Vasquez remix.....God they were awful.

I hate Gett Off too - but I love Violet The Organ Grinder. I guess that is more of an adaptation or remake than an actual remix though.
