Is AOL Radio playing Prince Bootlegs?

AOL Radio has an all Prince station now, and they just played a song called "Fantastic", and the album was listed as "Crucial".
As a lifelong fan, I can only say.."Huh?"
The song was "purple rain"-era, and sounded vaguely familiar. The sound was far from good quality, and even sounded scratchy.
And "Crucial"?
I can only guess this was a bootleg.

Was it "Power Fantastic"? That was officially released as part of the Hits/B-Sides package. Though it also appeared on the Crucial bootleg. Someone at AOL Radio must be a prince fan smile

I guess you've never heard of "Power Fantastic" eh?
The Hits/B-sides...
But yeah, "Crucial" is a crappy bootleg...

"Crucial" is on "Crystal Ball" - and it's NOT crappy.

But, as Neversin rightly states, the quality of the bootleg entitled , 'Crucial' - not the specific song later released on 'Crystal Ball' but the collection of songs (at that stage mostly outtakes), which first appeared on vinyl and later on CD in various issues, is crappy.

wow, i guess i'm just not as picky as most...many years ago i came across the "Crucial" boot. It instantly became a favorite of mine and I thought the quality was pretty darn good at the time. The songs on it were so good...i rmember thinking 'why doesn't he put THIS stuff out instead of stuff like Graffiti Bridge???'

anyway, since first getting that Crucial boot i've gotten ahold of various complilation boots that contain many of the tunes that were on that Crucial record. I'll have to go back and listen to them side by side to see if the old one was really THAT bad....

Mystery Man, you wrote: "But yeah, "Crucial" is a crappy bootleg" . Ambiguous meaning: do you mean that "Crucial" is a crappy bootleg(ged song), or do you mean that the version in question is sourced from a lo-fi bootleg?

I listened yesterday and they are playing unreleased songs.
There is Lonely was played twice, to my knowledge that hasn't been released yet.
