A couple of nights ago, as a bit of a piss-take, I started doing ludicrous Prince song comparisons threads in the same vein and it was amazing how few people picked up on what I was doing.

It's just a current trend and it will pass soon enough. It's going to get even more annoying soon, because this entire forum will soon be consisting of 'Musicology is great/shit/average' threads. And boy, will they get annoying

Trouble with them is, they fill up the pages real quick - if someone makes an interesting point or posts a bit of news that isn't on the news page - it is pushed back to somewhere on page 3 by the next day, and then most people never see it or get to comment on it since they tend to just respond to the topics in front of them on the first page.
