You know I saw Prince in Cleveland, Ohio at CSU Convention center which is a 5,000 seater.
You can get tickets at different Grocery Stores & other stores for Tickmaster type events. well Tickets went on sale at 10 am.. I went up the the local Grocery Store at around 9:45am (or so I was a few years ago) BUT there was a HUGE LINE with maybe 20-45 people waiting for the tickets to start selling 99% of them for Prince Tickets! Now this was some nothing grocery store.. well I got up to get my tickets and the lady behind the desk said she has NEVER seen a line like this and they sell everything there WWE, Backstreet Boys,etc.. * I barely got tickets for the show, they have nose bleed seats left and they sold out in less then 30 minutes. sooooo I have NEVER heard lately of Prince having a problem selling out the 5,000 seaters & or even when he jacked up the prices on the seats to closed to $100 per ticket.. he still sold out. * funny thing is the "American Idol" tour isn't even in the Gund Arena in Cleveland (20,000 seats) they had to drop to the CSU (5,000 seats) and American Idol is a "New" Pop Culture Event! Damn already in the 5,000 seaters.. YOU would assume a performer who has been around for 25 years & really the last 10 years had really NO radio play, mtv promotion & or music industry push would be worrying about selling tickets.. BUT NOPE!! When I saw Janet Jackson at the Gund it was not even half filled.. I bought the cheapest seats & before we even sat down.. They gave up seats 7 rows from the stage (upper deck) for free | |
