i knew it all along when leno asked him which of his songs he would miss the most, his answer was "probably purple rain" --- remember on the rave dvd when he played purple rain, i swear, that was such a moving performance, it appeared to me as if he got a bit misty-eyed. what do you think ? oh, one more thing, the chance to see him do p rain live, up close and personal, i would pay all the ticket price just to see that One of the best days of my life... http://prince.org/msg/100/291111

Yes, he was misty-eyed during Purple Rain on Rave. You see, some of those big ol' off-camera, electric fans blew the Finger Ease he sprayed on his guitar neck just before the solo RIGHT BACK INTO HIS EYES.

CreoleFreak said: Doesn't he get misty eyed damn near everytime he plays Purple Rain? He 'wept' I guess you can say during Purple Rain at the first P show I'd ever been to in '98. The girl next to me turned to me and said "aww look, he's crying".
I said, "no he's not ya dumb broad...it's part of the show!" I was right, right? PS - the dumb broad was my cousin, hence the vicious punch i received in the ribs after making the comment. family love is painful! ow love that lil' story!!
