the good old days I remember when SOTT came out and i was surprised because I was still listening to UTCM. Under The Cherry Moon being the first record I went out and picked up, cuz when Purple Rain was out and he was huge, I was nine and wasn't really buying albums yet. Just wacthing video's and playing the radio. Listening to dustys with my family.
I remember thinking damn, he already got another album out. And by the time I was in Highschool, I was sure that prince would have something out by the beginning of the year. These days things seem so complicated. Possible joint label releases, online downloads that save members 23cent, (not complaining im not a member) shakey distribution deals and just poor promotion in general. I miss the good old days when P would spin out albums like hot cakes and you had something to take home and jam and be proud, and you were always certain that there would be a future release date for something new, and that's that. While I understand the reasons why things must be this way for now, cant help but think of the good old days. Anbody feel the same?

My feelings are less complicated ....
Because I'm european, I became a true fan in 1984 (the earlier albums weren't that succesfull in europe) .... I was really excited about the music 'till 1992 But in retrospectieve: I really love the years 1979 - 1988 the years after 1988 ... mean nothing to me. (but I still buy the shitty albums ..... oh my god, ... WHY??)
