If Musicology has old songs... If musicology has old songs...then there goes the Best Album possibilities! My understanding is that if a song has been previously released, then it is not considered for Best Album in most awards show (not that winning awards is all that important to Prince) Not sure if, by reworking the hits, that that would make them "new".

If I understand the press release and the press conference Prince had correctly, Musicology will be all new material (not old songs re-recorded or re-mastered). "Always blessings, never losses......"

http://www.prince.org/msg/7/82011 Not that it really matters, but if there truly are re-recorded songs on it I would guess that it would be treated the same as an album with cover songs on it and still be eligible. Of course we should probably have a listen to the actual album before we start discussing best album nominations... [This message was edited Wed Feb 25 15:25:46 2004 by Universaluv] | |
