well i don't care for 'the work'. for me it's a funk song that lacks 'the funk'.

I have always hated La La La He He Hee. It's maybe the worst Prince song I have ever heard.

Ok, given it some more thought. I know there are more but here we go for now;
funk's a difficult thing to define, but for me it's a song that when you're listenign to a song and you realise your head is moving uncontrollably and you're pulling an ugly face.
