The reporters at the press conference were more nervous than the rest of us.

lol but oh what a treat it was to be invited to the El Rey theatre in Los Angeles by the music club not expecting a mini concert and intimate conversations with P relaxing on a stool with beautiful purple lights shining around him.

he played musicology ,kiss, sott, question of u/the one/ take me with u and a few other cuts and they showed the musicology video on a big screen... all of this before noon ..... he was asked why will the concert be in the round and he said to fit more people.... he said also as we have heard that whoever buys a ticket to the concert gets a new musicology cd... also whenb asked if we can go to paisley park soon (celebration style) he said the city gave him problems due to past events.... weird how he draws people from all over the world to his city and they trip on him...

That's what HE says, anyway... rolleyes

'Cause you know Prince never exaggerates, embellishes or distorts the facts when he gives his side of any given situation.

Usually I do give folks the benefit of the doubt.

But with Prince's very long history of twisting facts to his advantage (are you suggesting he isn't notorious for doing that?) I have a much harder time doing so.

You don't think that the city probably received a lot of complaints during the Celebrations and parties? I doubt the neighbors like the all-hours traffic, people parking everywhere, noise, trash, drunks, etc., etc.. The people who rake in the dough probably like the events, but I bet Joe Schmo doesn't. Not to mention the FREAKS these things draw...from all over the world. But, that's a whole 'nuther (& been done) thread!

At the 2002 Celebration, for a few nights this one street had both sides available for parking, then one side (closest to some sort of factory) all the sudden was unavailable. All of these no parking signs sprang up, and I remember a couple of nights it seemed we had to park miles from Paisley Park.
I'm guessing the day care center right across the street from Paisley wasn't too happy either. Paisley Park used to be in the middle of nowhere. Now it's a residential district. I don't doubt their were complaints from the community. But no doubt the businesses and motels loved us.
I was really looking forward to another Celebration. Maybe someday.
