Joy In Repetition or Jughead? Personally, I'm torn...
But surely someone out there likes Jughead? Anybody?

Joy In Repetion is beautiful. It is a poem.
Jughead? The song itself said it best, "get stupid". "She made me glad to be a man"

Never heard either of the songs. Are they good? If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

Jughead's soundscape is filled with dense, profuound vocals and astonishing rythmic poetry, held together by a structure worthy of Wagner's most inspired opera, plus your mom 's a virgin.

I know a lot of you will tear me down, but i'm gonna have to go against JIR on this one. JIR is beautiful, but it just aint got that funk.
What JIR really needs is some rapping. Imagine it... "She said love me.. muther fuckin love me.. get on your knees and love me down.. bitch" and so forth.. Now that my friends would be funky. "London, i've adopted a name that has no pronounciation.... is that cool with you?"
"YEAH!!!" "Yeah, well then fuck those other fools!"

This is tough. Other matchups have featured similar style or type of songs. These are very different.
The ONA Live version of Joy in Repetition is da bomb; the Graffiti Bridge version can't touch that. Jughead is sick funky on Diamond and Pearls. So based on original recordings of both, I'd have to go with ... the J-U-G-H-E-A-D! And I'm a flowin' with it!

On the surface it's a no-brainer to me-- Joy in Repetition is probably one of my top 5 faves, and I love every version, lol. Jughead was kind of a throwaway lyrically, just a 'dance commercial', and so one step above Horny Pony I guess. But if you feel the funk, it makes sense why this is the one that made the album and not Horny Pony, lol. Its kinda nice when you're feelin it and you start dancing. I just think Tony M polarizes people so much, they lose sight of the rest of the track besides his voice. "clockin a freak in a low pro... u know, discreet? joy in repetition is phenomenal...but i do like jughead (after years of hating it).

Joy in Repetition is a hot funk ballad that has words that r original. Better than Jughead
due 2 the weak raps of Tony M. No disrespect 2 Jughead i like it butt it just doesn't match the original funk content of Joy in Repetition. [/b][/i][/u][/u][/u]

A better question regarding an Archie character would be Betty or Veronica?
Personally, Betty would make a better girlfriend, but Veronica would be wild in bed!!! Do not hurry yourself in your spirit to become offended, for the taking of offense is what rests in the bosom of the stupid ones. (Ecclesiastes 7:9)

Personally, Betty would make a better girlfriend, but Veronica would be wild in bed!!! I always thought that too. As for the topic, Joy is overrated around here and Jughead... well Jughead is too. The latter is filth that should never be mentioned in any music forum, if at all. I'm not creative enough to come up with a rap worse than Tony's. Any album you put a song like that on is not a good album. Just imagine if it was on Purple Rain right after let's say When Doves Cry. The awards, the fans, everything that was to follow would never have happened. I wouldn't be here typing this drivel instead of studying. Surely WB would have dropped him and the Revolution would have left him and hooked up with Rick James. Wow. Now that's a helluva song. My time is up, folks.
