this is all crazy talk!

It's got nothing at all to do with "fam".
It is simply, as you say, crazy talk. But it's all true.

let's see... Vikki, Christopher Tracy, Camille... all cool names.

i would love to have an eccentric little Cynthia Rose.

but as far as fam-dom goes, perhaps Michael Jackson is the biggest FAM ever - i mean, naming your child not once, but TWICE after the man??? impressive!

We should totally and completely ignore everything Michael Jackson says and does from now on - unless it actually pertains to music!

I get the feeling not much would be written about him...

Could be that he considers his children some sort of royalty?

Ignore folk like locoarts... he's an MJ hater so he's never gonna have an unbiased opinion of him. rolleyes

The name 'Prince' has been in MJ's family for many years.

MJ is a tad on the flakey side these days, must admit. I'm sorry for him tho, not all his fault...

I named my first daughter Elektra, from the Ladder, because "for him each day she had a smile." My second beautiful daughter is Tyka, after his sister. Always wanted to thank him for these names. More fitting names were never bestowed, I believe.

Well, I'm thinking of naming my child Scarletpussy Lalalahehehee. Is this too weird? wink

MBQ, I think Elektra is a beautiful name. Of course, Prince got the name from a famous greek play, so it has roots beyond the song. Are you aware that there is a popular comic book character with this name? (she's a beautiful, deadly assassin in the Daredevil comics. I know that sounds negative, but the character is a favorite of many fans because she is so mysterious and complex.)

The closest I ever got to this was I named my previous car "Zannalee". It seemed to fit.

On this subject, here's a funny website about weird names that people give their children. Now, I'll admit that I actually like one or two that they poke fun at here, but on the whole they are atrocious! The author's commentary on each submission is quite humourous:

my son's middle name is Nathaniel. I always said that if I have a boy it's gonna at least have the "nathaniel" in there. FOught 6 months with my wife for it, and finally convinced her.
It's all from SOTT. "Let's fall in love, get married have a baby/we'll call him Nate/ if it's a boy."

After I told her what the song meant, she agreed. What a cool chick. I should marry her! Waitaminute.... wink

lluvley1 & pbrite, never imagined such struggles for a simple name like "Nate"! plenty did give me a hard time about Elektra, however. now that she's here & such an energetic person, they see the sense in it.

yes Jedi - Sophocles is the classic source... hell of a thing for a mom to name her daughter, if ya think about it... a bit like naming one's son "Oedipus!" well, she does adore her father, anyway!

enjoyniki - don't give the poor kid a complex! :O

My son's name is Christopher and my daughter's name is Cynthia Rose. Not done intentionally.

My dog's (sheltie) name is Prince. That was intentional.

A friend of mine named her dog (a french bulldog) "Paisley" and her rat "rainbow".

Another named her cat "Zannalee".

Guess I'm gonna have a lot of inspiration for giving names when I'll have kid (or pets wink , let's see what happens...)
Is there any place of refuge one can flee from this insanity
