I remember this site!
It was way before I found prince.org.

In fact it was part of my whole "discovering the internet" phase.

My newly found roomate had a computer. he hooked me up with an aol account under his, this way we split the bill. The first thing I did was learn how to search for prince information. One of the first websites I found that had cool little things to download was hammer's site.

Before that, I was the kid that went to the record store every weekend and bugged the hell out of one of the clerks that seemed to know somebody in minniapolis who knew somebody that knew somebody that worked at resturant where a paisley park employee would often dine and I'd be asking him all kind's of prince questions.

I bet I was quite annoying, now that I think about it...


Anyway, some of my first web discoveries of prince was at hammer's site. I tell you what though, when I first found this site, I thought this place had some of the biggest freaks on the net. It took about a year before I ever posted at this place. My big coming out of the prince closet, so to speak.

It was one of the first Prince sites I found interesting enough to visit regularly, but I never chatted there. Of course, I also read Pierre Igot's site, and when the whole Collective thing broke out, I lost interest in Prince fan sites for a while. No wonder, since many of them disappeared after being sued by Prince's lawyers.

Someone should write a brief history of Prince fan sites... we're interestingly nutty and dysfunctional!

I went there a couple of times but never got into the chatting. That I did on (*gulp*) AOL in the Paisley Park Chat Room. Some great people there.

I don't thank it was Hammer that was so bitter, but someone on the site that made him that way. And if I'm remembering right, I'm not mentioning any names.

AyanO here. I'm alive, and also remember Hammer's site, those were the early days. Good to see/hear and know that i'm being talked about as missing.. We'll I aint missing, just missing from the online posting boards. Too much flame wars at every post for me.
